Get a certificate of entitlement for a Panamanian driving licence

Use this service if you’re a British person and you need a certificate of entitlement for a Panamanian driving licence.

You’ll need a DVLA ‘check code’ to share with the British Embassy Panama City. They’ll use the information to check your UK driving licence.

To get a check code:

  1. Go to DVLA to view your driving licence information – you’ll need to enter your driving licence number, National Insurance number and postcode.
  2. Click on the ‘get your check code’ tab.
  3. Select ‘print’ or ‘print or save’ (this may be different depending on which device you’re using).
  4. Download a DVLA licence summary – you’ll need the first page of the summary for this service, which includes the code and last 8 numbers of your driving licence number

The check code is valid for 21 days and can only be used once, so get the code when you’re ready to apply and do not use it anywhere else.

It’s your responsibility to make sure you’re using the correct service and that the relevant authority will accept your document.
